Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
Looking down, she bit her lip a little unsure…Alice sighed as she glanced back up to look at him, “Okay…”, she looked around making sure nobody would hear her before glancing back. Alice was a bit unsure where to start would it be better to be blunt, give half him half the truth, or be hypothetical; she finally decided it was best to be blunt and kinda hypothetical, she was always a horrible liar anyways. “What if I were to say…I came from a different country…and I…also came from a different timeline”, Alice said the last part so quickly and quietly that she wasn’t sure that he had heard her.
A rather uninterested expression colored Hansel’s features as he waited for the girl to continue, if she was even going to continue that was; he wasn’t sure if she was really going to give him an answer. When she did finally speak there was only mild interest on the hunter’s face till she mentioned different timeline. Once those words fell from her mouth, his brow furrowed and a frown tugged at his mouth. “Then I’d say you probably shouldn’t go around telling people that.”
Alice sighed, brushing her hair back, “It’s not like I would, what would I even say…” she couldn’t believe that she just told this guy that she was from a different timeline. By now he probably already thought she was crazy; Alice squeezed her eyes shut and rubbed her forhead, something she did when she was stressed.
“Don’t lose yourself”he smiled.
She looked up to him confused, sometimes things had a double meaning, and Alice wasn’t sure which he meant, “What do you mean?”
“I mean what I said, what else would I mean?”
Alice crossed her arms and shrugged, “I don’t know…maybe about me losing my mind literally or…figuratively. I’m just a bit confused on what you said and how you mean,” rubbing her forehead, she got a strange feeling of deja vu…like she had this conversation once before…but maybe with someone else.
Alice nodded and then tried to think back, she didn’t think she knew the man she poke of…though…she didn’t know what other parts of her memories were missing, they could all be scattered for all she knew. “I don’t…think I knew him? It was so long ago…” It was possible that she didn’t know him, but as you get older it gets harder and harder to try to remember your childhood memories…and this case it was definite.
“Fair enough” he chuckles softly, “Well this certainly has turned into a morbid discussion hasn’t it?” he smiles.
“Perhaps we should find somewhere else to discuss some other things?” he prompts gently, considering the possible options of a discussion that didn’t surround your memories. “Perhaps a drink at Granny’s? Or another bar” he smiles.
She smiles back politely, “Yeah…better to keep your mind off it, then to think about it”, Alice rubbed her forehead a bit…she was starting to get a headache. Her momories tend to have a toll on Alice after a while, it’d be nice to get her mind off it for a while.
“…I could go crazy”, Alice shrugged, but her mind was going miles per minute, “I may have a traumatizing memory that…even my mind doesn’t want me to find out…and maybe that’s why I can only get bits and pieces of it…” she knew the man that she saw as a girl had bad parts of his memories…yet he still wanted them…no matter the cost. Maybe that was the trap…just the mere lure of it, it was so tempting to just give in and do what ever it took to get the memories back quickly. That all we wanted was the pain to go away…to not get bits and pieces, because we were impatient…and maybe that’s why he went mad.
After his wall fell, to block those memories, all that pain…happiness, sadness, anger…all those memories just came rushing in. After that he fell to the floor, squeezing his head in agony…begging for it all to go away and that he made a mistake…but it was too late…the wall was gone and he had gone utterly mad.
She was just a young girl when she was forced to see this man go crazy with her own eyes, Alice looked away to glance at the woods as she wiped one tear after another…she really wanted to forget that part of her childhood. Why would her parents would take her to such a place? She didn’t know…
“Your mind is stronger than you would believe” he smiles, “If it doesn’t want you to find out about something, it simply won’t.”
He chuckles to himself for a second, “Would you happen to know this mad-man?” he smiles, thinking back to the story of Alice and Wonderland, making an assumptive connection to the mad-hatter.
Alice nodded and then tried to think back, she didn’t think she knew the man she poke of…though…she didn’t know what other parts of her memories were missing, they could all be scattered for all she knew. “I don’t…think I knew him? It was so long ago…” It was possible that she didn know him, but as you get older it gets harder and harder to try to remember your childhood memories…and this case it was definite.
“I’ll just follow you and yeah…I only been here for what…a week, I’m sure it’ll become easier over time.”
“I’m sure it well. After all we’ve all had the last 28 years of learn the town lay out.” Snow said with a small shrug before she realized how strange that sounded. “I mean… I’ve had… It’s just this way.” Before she dug herself a deeper hole she started walking toward Granny’s Bed and Breakfast.
“Well you kinda have to, if you live in a large town such like this”, Alice wasn’t sure why Snow acting strange at this moment, but decided to leave it alone. “So…how long has this town been established? Weird question…sorry, you don’t have to answer that.”

Alice felt like this town was more than it seemed, after returning to Wonderland…it feels like she has a new perspective on what was strange and what was just plain unusual. Everyone avoided Alice and the town was unusually quiet when she was around, it seemed like that everyone was keeping a “secret” and only she was left out.
“Remembering may be painful, memories can create wounds and some that never heal. Who went mad now?”he asked.
“Yeah..” Alice said rubbing her forehead, “Just a man…who had the same problems as me…”
“Don’t lose yourself”he smiled.
She looked up to him confused, sometimes things had a double meaning, and Alice wasn’t sure which he meant, “What do you mean?”
“Sure”, Alice smiled politely, “I think if I were to venture on my own…I think I may get a little lost on the way.”
Snow chuckled. “The street here can be a little confusing if you haven’t been here long. It’s just this way.”
“I’ll just follow you and yeah…I only been here for what…a week, I’m sure it’ll become easier over time.”
